The Culture of Community
After remaining in seclusion for 25 years, upon her emergence from isolation, Sveva, now age 42, was able to integrate into society in large part because of her engagement with the local arts and culture community of the North Okanagan, members of whom welcomed her with open arms.
When Sveva left her home to the community of Greater Vernon in 1994, it was with the express with that the house and propriety serve as a cultural facility for artistic expression and exploration. In the 30 years since, this has been made possible due to funding and support for our not-for-profit organization.
From Vision to Reality
Sveva’s vision for her home could only become a reality through the time, skill, commitment, and belief of those who have donated to and supported her vision to create a small, inclusive hub for arts, culture, and heritage to thrive.
Hundreds of individual volunteers have also donated their time, energy and expertise over the years. If you’d like to be part of this community of volunteers, please join us as we care for and preserve Sveva’s legacy for the future. See below for volunteer oppurtunities.
